1981 928 with the Competition package. On the Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche option equipment listed as Sport Group 1. That included s type front rear spoilers, chrome rims, sport seats, bigger breaks. I have had the vehicle for 20 years. Driven to Car shows, and weekend fun. I just retired and will be scaling down, that is why I am selling. Have received trophies from some of the shows I attended. Plus points and issues are listed below. Car runs great. Sits all winter in the garage, in the spring starts right up. Priced because of the issues that need to be addressed. Referring to sites like bringatrailer, the car when restored does have a very good value. In doing a VIN check looks to have some type of salvage flood title back in 1990. My brother took possession of the vehicle in 1993, totally inspected for any damage and no visible signs of damage or flood. I have a clear title from CT. After having the car for 20 years I have found no issues with electrical or body damage. I replaced the driver’s fender, on the inside no visible marks of any floor or damage could be found. I am just giving this information to let perspective buyers know everything I know about the car. Flood info found on CarFax. Maintenance done. oil changes spark plugs. Done. Every year fuel stabilizer installed. Plus points Stainless steel borla exhaust system. Sunroof and windows work fine. Antique switches replaced. Break lines replaced. Original paint from 1981. Garage kept never left out in sun or weather. Interior piping on driver’s seat needs a little care. See photos. Upgraded steering wheel and gear shifter. Still have original steering wheel. Included a 2nd set of regular rims with tires. Issues Transmission 2nd gear syncro need replacing. Shifts fine. Feel it if you shift fast. Normal driving not an issue. Has had this issue from the time I received the car. Small oil leak. Sits for a month don’t see any oil on ground. Couple drops over winter. Mechanic said not to worry about it. Most older cars have some fluid leaks. Funny part the oil drops on the exhaust and will burn off on first start. Funny how a couple drops of oil will smoke. Thermostat gasket needs to be replaced. A/C needs to be charged or checked out. Never used it. Climate control makes a buzzing sound if
turned down all the way. Not sure what is it. Front end has vibration at 60mph. not sure if alignment or tires need balancing. Breaks are little soft. Not sure if they just need to be blead. Nose was painted could use a repaint. See images. Drivers’ fender replaced. Original one has damage to the top. Did not want to use Bondo, ordered replacement fender from https://www.dcauto.com/ it was professionally painted. Paint was baked on. See photos. No other body parts replaced. Rest of car is original paint. Button near parking brake is for manual antenna extension. Does not come up with after marked radio. I wanted to be completely honest about the car.
